Crail Golfing Society

This is the seventh oldest golf club in Scotland (February 23rd 1786). It is located about 15 minutes drive east of St. Andrews at the most easterly point of the East Neuk of Fife.

Every hole has sight of the water and the wind is therefore a major factor. This is a links course with a couple of holes that have a parkland feel set away from the water. The clubhouse in magnificent as it has views that can be enjoyed for a whole afternoon.

There is now a second course at Crail, called Craighead. This is a well-designed course with big, undulating greens. The rough was brutal in 1999!

Crail has two great courses worthy of any itinerary - the Balcomie Course is host to the World Junior Championships in July 2000. Thousands of golfers have played here over the years - try and follow in their footsteps.
